Saddle Ridge has deep roots in the community and great people to work with
Where our Saddle Ridge development now stands, there once was a resort at the turn of the 18th century. Guests were brought out to the area from Portage, Wis., on the railroad and then transported by horse and buggy to the hotel. Since that time, the original hotel has been remodeled to become a single family home.
Saddle Ridge is a family run operation that started back in 1978. The 450 acres that encompasses Saddle Ridge was originally purchased by Carl Berst in 1954. When Carl first bought the land he planted 50,000 plus pine trees, and that is how we are able to have such magnificent building sites today. The second generation took over in 1996 and 2008 Saddle Ridge is looking forward to the third generation stepping up and moving forward with Saddle Ridge.
Serving on the board for the development company are Charlie Kirk, his father Pat Kirk, and Lee Gosda, who has spent his life in home sales and construction. Lee supervises the building of homes at Saddle Ridge.
